Are you overtraining? (And if you are, how can you tell?) To help runners determine their optimum training level, Jack Raglin, Ph.D., developed a short quiz that he advises runners to take at least once a week—or even daily when in serious training. Published on the
Runner’s World website, the quiz is comprised of seven multiple-choice questions—all related to mood, sleep, and overall health—along with a scoring system.
A score of 40 or more indicates you might be overtraining, while a score of 15 or less shows a good rest/work balance. Numbers in the middle don’t necessarily mean there’s a problem, but Raglin suggests mindful monitoring. Quiz yourself
here, and see how you rate.
