A recent University of Warwick and Dartmouth College study reports that people who eat 7 servings of fruits or vegetables a day report being “happier” than those who don’t. After studying the eating habits of 80,000 people, researchers found happiness and mental well-being seemed to rise with the number of daily portions of fruit and vegetables people consumed. The happiest participants consumed 7 daily servings of fruit or vegetables. Researchers surmise that the nutrient boosts (like folic acid) may be the key to improved mood.
