We continue our Trainer Appreciation Month with Fitness Expert and TV talk show host Jessica Regnante. Long known as one of New England’s top personal trainers, her trademark method is a fusion of results-driven functional fitness training, Pilates techniques, effective eating strategies and healthy living tips. Jessica offers her unique CONCIERGEFITNESS® by Jessica R® training program, where she either trains clients in the privacy of their own home or is available one-on-one anywhere in the world via Skype.
“One of the main reasons I love my CONCIERGEFITNESS® practice is the variety of people that I encounter on a daily basis — each client has different goals and challenges and different pieces of equipment available to them,” Jessica explains. “For 15 years, Gym Source has been providing my in-home CONCIERGEFITNESS® clients with commercial quality fitness equipment in their home gyms.”
People with hefty work and family obligations make up a significant clientele for Jessica, for whom one of the biggest challenges is prioritizing fitness into their busy schedules. In this case, Jessica notes that quality is more important than quantity with exercise. A few exercises with an emphasis on fabulous form can make a huge difference in the way you look and feel.
“That’s why I love when my clients have the PowerPlate®,” Jessica explains. “Our bodies move throughout the day in a series of movement patterns. We walk, we squat, we lunge, we bend, we twist, we push and we pull. Our daily activities blend all of these patterns. PowerPlate® training allows me to keep the focus on functional training by incorporating all of these 7 patterns into my programs, while having the advantage and variety of acceleration training. All of the exercises I choose focus on flexibility, stability, strength and eventually power.”
Jessica earned a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Northeastern University in Massachusetts. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. She’s certified in the Authentic Pilates Method and holds advanced certifications in her specialties. In addition, Jessica has been a featured guest on KSPORTS New England, a monthly sports magazine TV show for kids by kids. Her love of teaching young athletes led to working as a fitness consultant to Olympic Silver Medalist Nancy Kerrigan when Nancy and Mary Spencer wrote Artistry on Ice: Figure Skating Skills and Style.
