The Science Behind LifeSpan’s Running Surface

LifeSpan Treadmill

At LifeSpan we pride ourselves on having the most-recommended Treadmills in America. We build each treadmill with quality and care, with components that seamlessly work together, from the deck and orthopedic belt to the shock absorption system. We start with durable frames that support users up to 300 lbs. and 500 lbs., and make the running surface in two sizes, either 56 inches or 60 inches, depending on the model, to give the user plenty of space. LifeSpan also uses a one-inch phenolic deck and heavy-duty orthopedic treadmill belts on some models, making it endure the test of time, giving you the traction you need. We make sure the drive systems (the motor and control board) are in sync to enable the users stride pattern stay consistent.

The most important factor when developing our running surfaces are LifeSpan’s compression shock absorbers. Our treadmills have either six or eight elastomers (shock absorbers), depending on the model. For instance, our TR5000i is equipped with eight variable-density elastomers, providing excellent comfort for the most advanced users to the novice. The elastomers are used to absorb impact when exercising. Some treadmills are too bouncy, and they rebound impact, causing damage to your joints. Thus, having shock dispersed throughout the treadmill deck is a vital function.

Our commercial treadmills come with a maintenance-free belt/deck system. However, our home products do not, so just be sure to check manufacturer recommendations when purchasing to make sure you know the best care for your treadmill.

No matter the model, our customers can feel confident they are getting the best quality running surface with their treadmill that will last them for years to come.
