Why LifeSpan Counts Your Steps

LifeSpan Treadmill Desk

The American Heart Association recommends people take 10,000 steps per day, which is about five miles. LifeSpan designs Treadmills and Treadmill Desks with customers in mind. Studies have shown that 10,000 steps per day can reduce the risks of a sedentary lifestyle, such as a 70% rate of stroke reduction and a 90% reduction in heart attacks (source: American Heart Association).

It may be hard for many people to fit 10,000 steps into their busy schedules throughout the day. LifeSpan wants to help our customers reach this goal, which is why we incorporated the exclusive “Intelli-Step” feature into all of our Treadmills and Treadmill Desks, which tracks each step automatically. It’s been proven that people push themselves harder to reach their goals when the information is right in front of them. Therefore, LifeSpan’s step counting has been a great way to measure and motivate our customers.

If someone prefers pedaling over walking or running, don’t worry. We have a similar feature in our Bike Desk models, counting pedaling revolutions–“revs”–which provides an easy comparison to steps. LifeSpan is always working to give our customers the best possible solutions for their fitness needs–our step counting features prove this.
