Are you a Breakfast-Skipper?

Breakfast Parfait

You already know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Now experts have confirmed it. The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology examined the impact of breakfast consumption on appetite and evening snacking habits in young people who usually skip breakfast. Their results were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. They found that eating a protein-rich breakfast significantly improves appetite control and reduces unhealthy snacking in the evening.

It is estimated that 60% of young people still skip breakfast and there are more than 25 million overweight or obese young adults in the U.S. A breakfast rich in protein may prove to be a useful strategy to counteract that trend. And for people who simply don’t ‘like to eat’ in the morning, experts explain that it only takes about three days for the body to adjust to eating early in the day.
